As a relative newcomer to the sport, she’s been on a steep learning curve and has taken it all on the chin and in her stride to storm to the top of what is considered one of the toughest aspects of our sport: marathon and enduro racing.

It’s only been just over 2 days since the event finished, but it’s clear that Mountain Mayhem has already made an indelible impression on my life. Some events and experiences seem to burn a more compete and rich groove in the memory banks.

OK the Mayhem run in starts at 3am on Tuesday morning before.... I have just hooked up the trailer after promoting the National Points Race at Grizedale forest and I want to get down to Shropshire ready for the next round in August.

June last year I didn’t even have a mountain bike, had no interest in mountain biking and had no idea what Mountain Mayhem was other than it was some sort of 24hr race that some mountain biking club mates – The Grimey Lymies – had entered in teams.
