We are very sad to announce that Rowenta Dave is retiring.... After 3 long years out in the wilderness pressing on, ‘Dave’ has become board and is now looking for new challenges. This means his state of the art off road ironing board and iron are now looking for a new home... Think you’re up for the challenge....

Right we asked at the beginning of Mayhem for you guys to get all creative and take some pretty inspiring photos that sum up Mayhem for you. Our sponsor Original Source is keen to see what your interpretation of this year’s Mayhem. What’s in it for you? Well you may find yourself squeaky clean with a whole lot of bathing goodies but also a video head cam to record all your best routes and provide hours of mountain bike action for all your mates.
So dig out those pics ASAp get them into us. There were loads of you out there with cameras and we’d like to see what you came up with! Whether it’s that shot of your team mates at 3 am looking a bit tired and dishevelled but grinning ear to ear, or your bike covered in a huge layer of mud. We want you to show us what Mayhem means to you in picture form. Photos must be of this year’s Mayhem experience.

Yep that’s right you’re all winners! All of you that took part in the 11th Mountain Mayhem can look your friends in the eye and say yeah we won! In what turned out to be an epic battle of mind over mud as well as bike through mud, you all did brilliantly to get through to the other side and ride trough to the finish. Lets hope next year which we’re already billing as the Dirt Dozen, really doesn’t live up to it’s name. Still the heroic Mayhem spirit certainly won through on the day.....
Talking of winners.... We’re pleased to tell you that Mountain Mayhem has been voted by the readers of What Mountain Bike as best mountain bike event! Thank you.

Well done to to Nick Wallis who made his first visit to the Mayhem podium after 11 long years! This time he was well rewarded with the Spirit of Mayhem Award, kindly donated by What Mountain Bike. Why was Nick chosen?
Well like we said he’s been coming to Mayhem since the very beginning, he is one of a small band of people who can rightly claim to have been in from the beginning, even at one point breaking out of hospital to make sure he didn’t miss a year. now that’s what we call dedication!

How to find your ‘wings’ at Mayhem...

We’re pleased to tell you that our friends RED BULL will be at Mayhem again this year, in the usual spot, on the top of the climb over looking the arena, where you’ll most probably be glad to see them.

This years Mountain Mayhem also introduces an exciting new element in the shape of co sponsor Muc-Off's professional series wash area. This area has been designed and built in house by the Muc-Off team specifically for the Mountain Mayhem event. Comprising of three fabricated bicycle specific cleaning baths with jet washes and a separate lube area offering riders the opportunity to get their bikes cleaned and re-lubed for free using the full range of Muc-Off's superior bike care products including their new range of wet and dry lubes. Members of the Muc-Off team will also be on-hand for the full 24 hours to provide their technical expertise in bicycle care and ensure that every competitor can get their bikes races prepped in record time.

Come on sing along you know how it goes...” wa, a, wa, we’re in the Army now...” and repeat cos I don’t know the rest of the words.
Anyway even if you’re not in the army, you can certainly enjoy some of the fun things they’ll be bringing along to Mayhem. Fancy a trip up the climbing tower? What about trying out one of their obstacle courses? Oh and then there’s always a spot of paint balling... See loads to do and have fun whilst not even riding a bike!

Are you excited yet? We are! A mere 8 days and counting. This time next week, the Mayhem Village will be in full swing and the campsite will be aflow with bikers from all corners of the UK, hopefully with beautifully decorated campsites (have you forgotten that the nice peeps from Neilson want to reward you with holiday vouchers for your efforts??).
The crew are currently on site starting to prepare the course and the site to make sure your Mayhem Experience goes with a bang...well not literally of course!
We’ve also had loads of prezzies sent our way by tons of well wishers, which of course we’ll be passing onto you lovely people in one way or another.
For those that reach the dizzy heights of the Mayhem podium, well to start with those nice people at Salomon are donating 12 pairs of their top of the line XA Pro 3D XCR shoes as prizes at this years Mountain Mayhem (that’s £1000's worth of shoes!).We don’t need to tell you that this is the worlds best adventure running shoe for wet conditions.
