All of you that took part in the 11th Mountain Mayhem can look your friends in the eye and say yeah we won! In what turned out to be an epic battle of mind over mud as well as bike through mud, you all did brilliantly to get through to the other side and ride trough to the finish. Lets hope next year which we’re already billing as the Dirt Dozen, really doesn’t live up to it’s name. Still the heroic Mayhem spirit certainly won through on the day.....
Talking of winners.... We’re pleased to tell you that Mountain Mayhem has been voted by the readers of What Mountain Bike as best mountain bike event! Thank you.

Well done to to Nick Wallis who made his first visit to the Mayhem podium after 11 long years! This time he was well rewarded with the Spirit of Mayhem Award, kindly donated by What Mountain Bike. Why was Nick chosen?
Well like we said he’s been coming to Mayhem since the very beginning, he is one of a small band of people who can rightly claim to have been in from the beginning, even at one point breaking out of hospital to make sure he didn’t miss a year. now that’s what we call dedication!

Oh and while we’re talking about winners here’s a few more that picked up some cracking prizes from our generous sponsors!

Mini Mayhem Neilson Holiday voucher draw -
William Lewis 11yrs

Neilson Best Dressed Campsite -
Team Fubar

Ticket2Ride Holiday draw in association with Kryptonite -
Andy Holland

And finally the lucky person who won an assorted Mayhem World goodie bag is -
Kirsty Windsor

Why not stop for a chat, a bit of a chill and get some wings for the rest of your lap!
They’ve also very kindly sent us some posh info about the use of caffeine, just in case you were thinking it was a performance enhancing product that could see you booted out of the Tour or something… fear not, you can guzzle it down with impunity!

Caffeine has been consistently used to improve power outputs and cycling performance and since The World Anti Doping Agency removed caffeine off the banned list in 2004, caffeine has been widely used to assist in both training and competition. Numerous competitors have adopted Red Bull for it's regulated consistent dose of 80mg of caffeine per can. Equally competitors can be confident that only pharmaceutical grade of caffeine is used, making it more effective than complex caffeine products such as tea, coffee and some tablet based forms. The distinctive can is perfect to take training and out to events, and will help you replicate the performance enhancing routine of many of our successful sports men and women worldwide.

“Focus and concentration are vital components of getting the most out of my training sessions in the gym or Velodrome and before a race they are even more important. Red Bull helps me achieve this, which is why I religiously have a can 30 minutes before I need to perform. It helps me sharpen my focus and prepare for the task ahead.”

Chris Hoy – Great Britain Cyclist & Olympic Gold Medallist (and we know secretly he wants to do Mayhem one year…)

Well thanks to RED BULL for that party political broadcast, now lets just get on with the party!

Oh and if you fancy one put haven’t quite reached the podium, why not pop over and see them and adopt one at the event, they have a stand where you can fondle the merchandise and run off into the sunset with your new purchase for a ‘clean’ start. Don’t forget too that if you’re a Mayhem World Club Card holder you’ll get a little sweetener, of 10% off to make it a happy partnership! Oh and while we remember Fat Face will also be offering a 10% discount to Mayhem World Card Holders on the weekend.
