WHAT’S INVOLVED

A training weekend is a chance for you and your team of riders to get together and lift your skills, set your targets and prepare for the event with the help of a highly experienced and qualified instructor.

During the two days you’ll get out for coaching rides that develop your speed and bike control on a whole range of trails types.  Much of the talk will be about energy management – carrying momentum through corners, over lips and roots or getting smoothly up steep or technical climbs. You’ll have a chance to work on anything that has troubled you and the expert instructor will tailor the content and level of training to exactly fit your needs.

On Saturday, after the day ride, you’ll have a planning session to look at ways to operate your team, consider various race tactics as used by the leading pro teams, and discuss systems to manage everything that happens away from the race course.

Once it gets dark you’ll be out again, with lights, to do some night time skills work and look at various aspects of racing at night.

After the day ride on Sunday you’ll debrief with your instructor, who will help you put together a training plan, both as individuals and as a team, to ensure that you reach your peak for the event itself.

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE

This course can be tailored to the needs of any team – from those on their first Mayhem outing to competitive teams hoping to get into the rankings.

You will come away with a bundle of new riding skills, an understanding of energy management and how much it can impact on your performance, and an overall plan to take you through to the event.

It’s also a great opportunity to get away with your team-mates, to get to know each others strengths, weaknesses and needs, so you can really work together when the pressure is on.
